In this section, you will find a collection of my work in designing and delivering impactful workshops and presentations. Here, I combine my passion for communication with my career as an educator. I firmly believe in the power of professional development to inspire, engage, and empower individuals and organizations. I strive to create immersive learning experiences based in principles of effective andragogy. By leveraging my expertise in instructional design, audience engagement, and effective communication techniques, I aim to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where knowledge is shared, skills are developed, and ideas are explored.
Workshop: Communicating Equity in Public Health with Data Visualization
Data visualization and storytelling can be a important tools for creating accessible dialogue around public health and related issues of social and racial equity. This session provided an overview of basic data viz principles, looked at examples of how visualizations can highlight (or obscure) racialized differences in outcomes, and led participants to critique and create examples of visual representation of health data.

Presentation: The Grades Are Not Enough: Using Outcomes in Canvas to Target Student Learning
Never say never again: with Canvas Outcomes, tracking student learning is easy. This session shows how—and why—to use built-in Canvas features to quickly and effectively track student progress on the learning that's most valuable to you. We’ll showcase several examples of outcomes in action from recent courses.

Presentation: HVRSD Coronavirus Mitigation Data
This is a presentation of data visualizations I put together and presented to my fellow School Committee members in a public meeting as we were deliberating the relative merits of lifting the mask mandate for students and staff. It was accompanied by a handout showing all the visualizations.

Workshop: Outcomes as Course Map
As part of an ongoing series of Academic Technology workshops on course structure at MCLA, I was a featured presenter on how to use Learning Outcomes and the Understanding by Design framework for as a map for instructional design.
